Somatic Experiencing (SE)

What is it??
Somatic Experiencing is a body-focused therapy designed to help release stress and trauma that may be “stuck” in the nervous system. It’s based on the idea that trauma isn’t just in the mind — it also lives in the body. By gently paying attention to physical sensations, you can gradually restore balance, calm, and a greater sense of safety within yourself.

How it works:

Instead of only talking about experiences, you’ll also tune into your body’s signals (like tension, breath, or heartbeat).

The therapist helps you notice these sensations safely, without being overwhelmed.

Over time, this allows your body to complete natural stress and trauma responses, leading to healing and resilience.

Why it helps:

Reduces symptoms of trauma, anxiety, and chronic stress.

Restores a sense of safety, connection, and regulation in the body.

Supports healing without needing to relive or retell traumatic experiences in detail.

Who it’s for:

People recovering from trauma, PTSD, or ongoing stress.

Those who feel “stuck” in patterns of anxiety, numbness, or overwhelm.

Anyone curious about a gentle, body-based approach to healing.
