Niamh Nicholl

Pre-accredited Therapist, Available Online Thursday to Sunday
I work with adults 18 years+

My undergraduate degree is in Early Childhood Care and Education. By working in collaboration with parents for many years, I developed a deep appreciation and understanding of the emotional experiences of motherhood. This work taught me how much emotional labour is carried quietly and without recognition.

My journey as a therapist began with studying a Masters in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy which broadened by ability to support mothers, in particular with challenges such as life transitions, emotional wellbeing, identity and burnout. I feel drawn to working in the area of women’s mental health with sensitivity to the emotional impact of bodily and hormonal changes.

Another focus of the service I provide is helping individuals strengthen their sense of self esteem and building a positive relationship with themselves. I also help clients to prioritise themselves by cultivating a nourishing self-care practices. The area of grief is also an area that I am drawn to, which centres on offering a safe space for clients to process their loss.

The core of my approach is integrative psychotherapy and counselling. This incorporates a range of different modalities, allowing me to tailor the therapy to the client’s presenting issue.
