Grace Johnston – Trainee Counsellor & Psychotherapist
Hi there, I’m Grace Johnston, a trainee counsellor and psychotherapist currently completing a Master’s in Pluralistic Psychotherapy at IICP. As a pluralistic therapist, I believe there is no one approach that works for everyone. I work alongside each client to understand what they need from therapy and to find ways of working that feel meaningful and helpful for them.
My Approach
Therapy doesn’t have to be about having the right words or knowing exactly what you need.
It can simply be having a safe space where you can slow down, feel heard and begin to make sense of what you’re experiencing. You don't need to arrive with everything figured out. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, going through a difficult transition or simply want some space to reflect, we can start where you are and work from there. My aim is to offer a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space where you can be yourself, at your own pace.
Professional Background
Before training as a therapist, I worked in primary education for over 20 years, including eight years in Special Education and Learning Support. Throughout my work, I have always been drawn to the importance of relationships, emotional wellbeing and creating spaces where people feel listened to, understood and accepted. My approach is warm, compassionate and collaborative.
Who I Work With
I work with people experiencing a wide range of issues including anxiety, low mood, stress, relationship difficulties, transitions, grief and loss, self esteem.
