Alicia Kavanagh – Student Counsellor
Hi, I’m Alicia.
I’m a student counsellor currently studying Pluralistic Counselling and Psychotherapy at IICP. I have a background in Psychology and am interested in supporting people through periods of difficulty, change and personal growth.
I believe that everyone’s experience is different and that therapy should be a collaborative process. My aim is to offer a warm, supportive and non-judgemental space where you can feel comfortable talking about what’s going on for you, at your own pace.
I work from a pluralistic and integrative perspective, meaning that I believe therapy should be tailored to the individual rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. I would work collaboratively with you to understand what you would like from therapy and what feels most helpful for you.
I’m particularly interested in working with people experiencing anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties and life changes.
As a trainee therapist, I understand the importance of working within my level of training and receiving regular clinical supervision. I’m committed to continuing to develop my skills throughout my training and to providing a safe and respectful space for each person I work with.
"I aim to respond to referrals within one working day and arrange a suitable time for an initial phone call."
