Seán — Pre-Accredited Psychotherapist (IACP)

I’m Seán, a psychotherapist with a passion for fostering personal growth and healing. My approach is compassionate, trauma-informed, and inclusive, offering a space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered. I believe in building strong, empathetic connections with my clients, creating a supportive, non-judgmental space where they can openly express themselves.

I work with Indvidual's from all backgrounds who are experiencing challenges, including anxiety, depression, grief and bereavement, suicide ideation, trauma, childhood trauma, shame, emotional regulation difficulties, relationship struggles and identity exploration.

I am deeply committed to working with Gender, Sex, and Relationship Diversity (GSRD), and offer an affirming, inclusive space for LGBTQIA+ individuals to explore identity, relationships, challenges, and personal growth.

I provide neurodiversity-affirming therapy, with a particular focus on ADHD. Whether you're navigating a new diagnosis or working to better understand your unique self, I tailor my work to meet your needs and strengths. I am a Certified ADHD Clinical Services Provider.

My approach to therapy is rooted in the belief that every client’s journey is unique, and therapy should be tailored to meet their specific needs. I use an integrative approach, drawing on a range of therapeutic models to provide the best possible support for each individual client I work with. As a trauma-informed psychotherapist, I understand the profound impact that trauma can have on a person’s emotional, psychological, and physical well-being. I create a safe and supportive space where clients feel empowered to explore their experiences at their own pace.

Psychosexual and Relationship Therapy

I am currently undertaking a specialist postgraduate programme in Psychosexual and Relationship Therapy with the Contemporary Institute of Clinical Sexology, London. I am a Certified Sex Therapy Informed Therapist.

I work with individuals experiencing sexual challenges, including unreliable erections, delayed ejaculation (DE), premature ejaculation (PE), and low sexual desire.

I support clients struggling with compulsive sexual behaviour (sometimes referred to as sex addiction), problematic pornography use, and experiences of sexual shame or disconnection. My approach is sex-positive and non-pathologising, attending to the emotional, relational, and physiological aspects of sexual wellbeing.

I also work with individuals who have experienced sexual violence or sexual trauma, offering gentle, client-led therapy focused on safety, trust, and empowerment.

Relationship Therapy for Couples

I work with couples navigating relational challenges including communication breakdown, emotional disconnection, infidelity, intimacy difficulties and intimate partner therapy. I support couples in developing healthier communication patterns, deeper emotional intimacy, and re-establish mutual understanding and trust.

I work with couples across all relationship styles— including heterosexual, same-sex couples, monogamous and polyamorous relationships. My approach is open, affirming, and inclusive of the diverse ways people connect with others.

I am a pre-accredited psychotherapist with the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP). Committed to upholding ethical standards, I attend regular supervision to support my own professional development and enrich my practice. I adhere to the code of ethics outlined by the IACP.

What happens once you reach out to me for couples counselling

1. Initial Consultation
Once you reach out or are referred, we'll schedule an initial consultation. This is a chance for us to connect, discuss your goals, and see if we're a good fit to work together.
2. Agreement and Intake
After the consultation, I’ll send you a service agreement and a detailed intake form. Depending on your specific concerns, this may be a more tailored questionnaire. This process helps me gather as much background as possible before we begin, so we can make the most of our sessions together.
3. First and Ongoing Sessions
Our first session will be 90 minutes, giving us space to dive in thoughtfully. All sessions after that are 60 minutes. There’s no extra charge for the longer first session—it’s simply how I prefer to start the process with care and depth.
