James — Student Counsellor (PCI College)
Hi, I’m James. My background is in wellbeing and I have worked across both public and private sectors. Along the way, I have delivered talks and lectures on topics like Positive Psychology, Coping with Anxiety, Neurodiversity, Grief and Loss, Stress Management, and LGBTQ+ inclusion. My passion for helping others is what brought me to counselling and psychotherapy.
Like many people, I have faced my own personal and professional challenges. Through reflection and growth, I have come to see those experiences as valuable lessons that I now bring into my work. I’m currently going into my third year of Psychotherapy and Counselling. I am committed to guiding others on their own paths to healing and self-awareness. I have also completed a QQI in Mental Health Awareness, which has expanded my understanding of mental health and wellbeing. Recognising the unique experiences of neurodivergent individuals, I provide focused support that honours both strengths and challenges.
Starting therapy, or coming back to it after some time, can feel intimidating. You might not know what to expect, or even what to say. That’s completely normal. I’m here to walk alongside you, offering support as you take steps toward feeling better and more in control.
My approach is warm, person centred, and tailored to you. Together, we will work at a pace that feels right for you. Everyone’s journey is different, and I aim to create a space where you feel seen, understood, and respected.
I offer a free 15-minute call where we can chat about your needs, answer any questions, and see if we’re a good fit. Your journey is important, and finding the right support can truly make a difference.
I am a pre-accredited psychotherapist with the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP). Committed to upholding ethical standards, I attend regular supervision to support my own professional development and enrich my practice. I adhere to the code of ethics outlined by the IACP.
